Attention Forestkeepers! Need help getting started on your tree observations and other activities? The Forest Mentor & Apprentice Program may be just what you need! We will match you up with an experienced member to help you where needed. Mentoring is available in many subject areas, including tree observations, tree care, tree identification, forest management, insects and diseases, and advocacy. You'll also get the name of your local Missouri Department of Conservation forester to answer any questions or needs beyond the scope of your Mentor's experience. The amount of time you spend in the program is up to you and your Mentor. The minimum age for participation is 18 years. Simply print, complete, and then mail the Apprentice Application to get started! You can also call us at 1-888-9-FOREST (936-7378) or e-mail us at information@forestkeepers.org to have an application sent to you.
Are you looking for another way to get involved with the Missouri Forestkeepers Network? We now offer members a rewarding opportunity to participate in a Mentor & Apprentice Program. Participation as a Mentor is available to members who have demonstrated their understanding and knowledge of the program and Missouri's forest resources through active participation and reporting. After a match is made, the amount of time you spend is up to you and your Apprentice. Some matches may last just a few months; others may last longer. If you would like to become a Mentor, simply print, complete, and mail the Mentor Application. If you would like us to send you an application, please contact us at 1-888-9-FOREST (936-7378) or information@forestkeepers.org.
